Loxahatchee River Fly Tournament

Loxahatchee River Fly Tournament

The first annual Loxahatchee River Fly Tournament was more than any of us could have asked for and we can't wait for the next. Did we have the first keg of cold brew to ever be served at a sandbar? Well yes, yes we did (thank you Pumphouse Coffee Roasters). Did each boat receive a 6-pack of Sailfish Brewing beer at the 6 A.M. check-in? Well yes, yes they did. The crew of 18 boats (did we mention this was our first time doing this? Pretty good turnout, huh) gave it their all and many had a successful morning in what we'd certainly consider a rather difficult fishery on a fly rod. Lines out at 2pm as we all made our way to the "awards" (aka afterparty) at our favorite local watering hole, Guanabanas. Team WHITES came in from Vero Beach and brought home the gold with a few nice Snook, and all-in-all everyone had a damn good time. Thank you to all of our buggy-whippin' anglers for joining, and to all of our awesome sponsors for keeping things rowdy. We had 18 boats this go around, can we hit 40 next? Leggo.
